Playing By The Numbers

I was standing in Barnes and Noble 15 years ago, waiting for my daughter to pick out a book, when a voice inside my head said "get a book on numerology."  Since I had absolutely no interest in numerology or astrology I resisted the voice and tried to patiently wait as my daughter browsed through the aisles. The voice became more insistent and caused a kind of internal itch that would not go away.  I reluctantly bought "Numerology for Dummies" just to make it stop and left the store with my daughter and a book I would never, ever read.

Shortly after this we were vacationing in Laguna Beach and that dang voice came back. "Read the book" it said. I had begrudgingly packed it with books and magazines I intended to read. Once I started I was hooked. The book was devoured, digested and I figured out my numerology, my family and friend's numerology before the trip was through.

I realized that fateful summer that I had found a Sacred Key to understanding myself and others.  A Higher Source was directing me to become more compassionate and effective in dealing with my loved ones and working out my personal issues. I discovered that by adding my birth numbers individually I came up with the number 24 which ,when added together, became the number 6. I learned that the number 2 was all about giving and receiving in balance.  If I could remember to stay in balance by not exhausting myself by over giving, I could work on the number 4 challenge which was to do things step by step instead of impatiently jumping ahead.  This was good solid advice that helped me focus my energies on the television scripts I was writing. Finally, I learned that the number 6, my Life Path number, was all about Vision and Acceptance, which meant that inspiration came easily to me but that I had to learn to adopt a realistic attitude towards my dreams and not strive for perfection. This knowledge helped me to forge ahead with projects instead of endlessly polishing or avoiding them because they were never good enough. Writing this blog right now, I am aware of this need to not over analyze and just keep going.

Over time, for my own knowledge, I began doing my client's numerology charts and realized that their life challenges were showing up in our sessions. I was much better equipped to help people when I could understand the deeper reasons that they were blocked.  Years later I realize that Spirit wanted me to go deeper with my healing work and become a Spiritual Life Coach. Numerology is one of the Mystical Tools that was given to me to even when I resisted.  I know that "the Voice" that I heard in the book store was Clairaudience, the experience of tuning into to the voice of The Superconscious Mind.  I now teach my clients that they have this ability as well. Like me, most people initially block this Powerful Teacher and Helper because it sometimes asks us to go outside of our comfort zone.  I'm truly grateful that I let Spirit overcome my obstinate objections and teach me by the Numbers.
